GDPR is a new set of rules designed to give European Union (EU) citizens and residents more control over their personal data. These regulations also apply to companies operating in the EU.
With the rising concern over privacy and the storage and exchange of personal information, the GDPR aims to harmonise and modernise data protection requirements and reshape the way companies approach privacy and security. The GDPR hopes to re-instate trust by giving people control over how and where their data is stored and shared.
Over the past two years companies that provide goods or services to Citizens, Residents and Organisations in the European Union, have had to become compliant with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect on May 25th, 2018.
HR Profiling and FinxS Oy Ltd International, believe this offers us the opportunity to enhance brand loyalty by focusing on consumer privacy. While still delivering exceptional insights through HR and Consulting tools.
The GDPR aims to protect EU citizens and residents from data and privacy breaches that could affect them. GDPR applies to anyone who sells goods or services to EU citizens and residents or storing and using data of EU citizens and residents. This means that if you process personal data relating to an EU citizen or resident you will be subject to the GDPR regulations.
This may mean companies need to implement new or add extra security protocols regarding the processing and storage of peoples data, regardless of where the organisations themselves are located.
